Manila overview

Manila Travel Guide
With a population of nearly 11 million, Manila is known for being an overcrowded metropolis. Moreover, noise, traffic and air pollution are common annoyances in the city. When touring around Manila, you always have to exercise caution. Just like in any other metropolis, crime is now a part of everyday life in Manila, with foreign tourists seen as easy victims by pickpockets. If possible, you better avoid walking alone in desolate places and at night, or you run the risk of being nabbed and end up with no money in your pocket. These problems, however, should not discourage you from stopping by the city for Manila is still a diverse, exciting and warm destination. In Manila, you can see lots of nightlife happening in Malate and Ermita, while the districts of Binondo and Quiapo are known for their colourful markets. For history buffs, Intramuros is a good place to dig out the country’s past.
