Leyte overview

Leyte Travel Guide
A huge island on the eastern part of Visayas, Leyte is not too touristy in comparison to its neighbouring islands. The province offers a few must-see attractions and getting into Leyte’s unspoiled treasures will usually take a bit of travelling. In addition, its beaches are not that impressive, but can be rated so-so for uncomplaining tourists. So if you long for the classy, international atmosphere of Palawan and Boracay, then you better omit the island from your itinerary. Meanwhile, the main travel hurdle with Leyte is that the island sits within the Philippine typhoon belt. Planning to visit between November and January? Don’t forget to bring your jacket and umbrella if you don’t want to get wet, as it could be raining in Leyte during these times.
