Cotabato overview

Cotabato is one of the provinces located in Mindanao Island. Aside from being the gateway to Mt Apo, the country’s highest point and home to the monkey-eating Philippine eagle, there is nothing much interesting in Cotabato. The area however has several eco-tourism sites that are still untouched and unexploited by mass tourism. So for tourists who hate crowded tourist spots, Cotabato is perfect for you. Since there is no other scenery in Cotabato aside from nature, you are left with no choice but to visit its natural wonders – including the Ligawasan marsh, the snaking Pulangi River, and several caves, hot springs and waterfalls. Aside from these attractions, Cotabato is famous for the thorny durian fruit. Many regard the fruit as fragrant, while others find the aroma disgusting, resulting to durian's banishment from certain public transport. So don’t try eating one inside the airplane if you don’t want your flight making an emergency landing.
