Cebu overview

Cebu Travel Guide
Cebu, the main province which Visayas evolves, is the country’s second most important economic hub. With 3.5 million inhabitants, the island is the most densely populated in the Philippines. Meanwhile, Cebu City, the provincial capital famous for its historical sites, is the major destination for 50 per cent of the foreign travellers heading to the country. As far as the tourists are concerned, Cebu City can be compared to Manila but minus the chaos. Its traffic is sometimes problematic, but not insane like the country’s capital. What’s even worse – dishonest taxi drivers who are experts in overcharging tourists, like in Manila, can be encountered everywhere. These taxis usually refuse to use the meter or drive in the wrong way just to increase the fare. So if you are tired of these rip offs that you already experienced in Manila, you better ask the driver to turn on the meter before you ride or just try using the colourful, yet noisy, jeepneys.
